Analysis of milk productivity and methane emissions of dairy cattle breeds in the farms of the leningrad region

The article presents a comparative analysis of three common breeds dairy cattle in the Leningrad Region – Ayrshire, Holstein and Black-and-White terms average annual milk yields per head, fat protein content methane emissions. indicators were compared by method, which tested hypothesis equality two means at level some error (5%). cows had highest yields; those Black-and–White 15.24% lower average, Ayrshire breed 26.64% lower. demonstrated content; 1.07 1.08 times lower, respectfully. best was 3.27% breed; 1.03 content, 1.04 content. emission 0.185 t/head/year. Based on productivity it seemed reasonable to divide all farms that worked with considered into 4 groups applying discriminant analysis.
